Focus On Concealed Carlin-Type Gold Targets

LAKEWOOD, CO - Taranis Resources Inc. reported that it has made a strategic decision to focus its exploration efforts on pediment-covered targets in Nevada after having assembled a state-wide exploration database aimed at locating large, undiscovered gold deposits concealed under pediment.

The dirt (Deposits in Rifted Terrain) exploration program is designed to identify Carlin-type gold deposits (>3 Million Oz. contained Au) hidden under pediment and has developed some proprietary methods that show considerable promise in identifying and refining exploration targets.

Taranis has a collection of resources that enable it to explore pediment-covered areas on a cost-effective basis. A review of one area has shown considerable promise, and will be systematically applied to other basins in Nevada to identify targets of merit.

John Gardiner, President and CEO states in 2007 Nevada contributed 8% of the world’s gold production, much of this from gold deposits that were found in ranges many years ago. Pediment-covered areas account for approximately 45% of Nevada, and exploration in this domain is in its infancy yet has yielded some of Nevada’s largest gold deposits (Pipeline, Twin Creeks, Gold Quarry and Cortez Hills). Our exploration efforts will be focused on this domain state-wide where we believe the best opportunities remain to find large precious metal deposits.
