Encouraging Assays At East Manhattan

VANCOUVER, BC - Fortune River Resource Corp. reported preliminary gold assays from the first five drill holes completed at the Company's 100% owned East Manhattan low-sulfidation gold/silver project. The project, which consists of 84 claims (approximately 680 hectares), is located in Nevada's Nye County at the eastern edge of the Manhattan Mining district and approximately 19 kilometers southeast of the Round Mountain mine. Royal Standard Minerals is currently conducting underground test mining at its Goldwedge development project, located approximately five kilometers to the west of the East Manhattan project.
Strongly anomalous gold occurs in a set of at least 10 vein zones within an east-west elongate area with dimensions of approximately 1,825m by 460m. Individual veins can be traced on the surface for more than 1,350m. The first-phase program consisted of 2,091 metres in 12 reverse-circulation drill holes that tested five of the strongest vein zones. Preliminary gold assays for the first four holes, located at the intersection of three prominent vein sets, are encouraging. Hole EM08001 contains 1.5m of 0.774 g/t Au at 116m and 1.5m of 1.11 g/t Au at 160m. Holes EM08002 and EM08003 were drilled from a shared site, intersecting the main vein zone approximately 90m along strike to the east of EM08001. EM08002 contains 6.2m of 1.97 g/t Au, including 1.2m of 5.87 g/t Au (gravimetric rerun is 6.31 g/t Au), at 50.3m depth and EM08003 contains 5.1m of 2.03 g/t Au, including 1.7m of 3.99 g/t Au (gravimetric rerun is 3.70 g/t Au), at 77.7m depth. Hole EM08003 cut the mineralized zone approximately 43m down dip from EM0802. Hole EM08004 intersected the main vein zone approximately 55m along strike to the east of EM08003 and contains a single 1.0m interval of 0.58 g/t Au. All intercepts are estimated true thicknesses. The fifth hole tested a separate vein located near the projected caldera margin fault, a major regional structure; however, this hole did not return significant gold values. Silver analyses have not been received for any of the holes.
President Joe Kizis commented, "Holes EM08002 and EM08003 demonstrate a significantly thick zone of precious metals mineralization at relatively shallow depth along one of our strongest vein zones, and this area deserves offset drill testing down dip. Other strong veins were intersected in remaining holes, offering further potential. Coarse gold is common in the district, so we have ordered metallic screen assays to determine if conventional fire assays are under-reporting gold grades in this area."
